things to do

Manly offers an abundance of activities and things to do for travellers of all ages and interests throughout the whole year. Here are our top recommendations of things to do whilst staying at Manly Waves:

BEACHES

Iconic Manly Beach lies just a stones throw away from our Designer Studios and is a world-famous spot for surfing, with surfing lessons also available. A saltwater pool is situated at the far end of the beach for keen swimmers. Other popular beaches worth visiting include Shelly Beach, Freshwater and Curl Curl - all within walking distance from the property.

CULTURE & MUSEUMS

Interested in traditional Aboriginal art? Visit the Aboriginal Dreamtime Fine Art Gallery located by Manly Wharf, to see or buy intricately painted pieces. For contemporary art and innovative sculptures, check out the Manly Art Gallery and Museum.

SYDNEY CBD

It goes without saying, there is a plethora of sights to see in the city. Luna Park and Sydney Zoo are perfect places for all the family to enjoy. Seeing a show at the Opera House or climbing the Harbour Bridge is a once in a lifetime experience. Book a tour to Palm Beach to see where the infamous Home & Away is filmed. Or simply enjoy the flora and fauna whilst taking a stroll around the Royal Botanic Gardens.

WALKS & CYCLING

There are various walks on offer throughout Manly and Sydney, the most popular ones being Manly to Spit Bridge, Bondi to Coogee or Watson's Bay and Rose Bay to Harbour Bridge. Manly has some excellent cycling routes, such as the Manly Dam Loop, Narrabeen Lagoon Trail and Seaforth to Shelly Beach. Hop on a bicycle and explore!

SHOPPING & MARKETS

Don't miss the chance to buy authentically Australian products from the local Artisan Markets that line Manly Corso every weekend. For bigger brands, head to Warringah Mall - just a 7-minute bus trip away.

PARKS

Enjoy the best of what nature has to offer at the scenic North Head National Park, with cliffs overlooking Sydney Harbour, dive sites and picnic areas. Stop off at Bella Vista Cafe to take in the stunning views. Queenscliff Reserve is situated a short walk from the studios - simply turn left at the beachfront and walk under the tunnel to enjoy a children's playground and open-air exercise equipment.
